Join us for a 2-day course on the archetypal nature of the menopausal journey .
We will look at this often extended and challenging transition through the lens of the channel system. As we explore the feminine archetypes of the Triple Goddess (Maiden, Mother & Crone) we will reach a deeper understanding of how menopause happens and why it is necessary.
DAY ONE:
The focus of day one will be an overview of the channel system and the three levels of qi (Wei, Ying & Yuan). This will give us a clear framework for the many varied symptoms associated with this powerful transition.
We will explore how stress and the nervous system impact the transition and exacerbate the suffering. When the nervous system is overwhelmed, it is very difficult to maintain stability through transition. This lack of stability and stress can impede the body’s ability to manage hormonal regulation, mood and a healthy body-mind connection.
This will set the stage for a deeper exploration of the archetypal journey of menopause. How do different cultures deal with this often-challenging time in a woman’s life? How do cultural beliefs about aging and wisdom change a woman’s experience? How do we manage the feminine journey from childhood to our golden years in such a way that we are better prepared for this powerful transition into Elder status?

DAY TWO:
On day two we will examine the specific challenges and opportunities offered to us at this time of change. We will look at the nature of curriculum. What lessons have we come to learn in this life and how can those lessons be turned into opportunities rather than resistance that creates suffering.

We will look at the 3 major stages of a woman’s life (Maiden, Mother & Crone) and what might happen when we extend one stage or delay another.
As we move from one stage to another how do our values change and we do we need to know to embrace that stage fully as an important part of our life journey? How do the 7 year cycles of jing give us a blueprint for understanding this process un a way that allows us to create more effective treatments.
We will also explore how lifestyle choices need to be reassessed and realigned with this new way of being in the world. How do we come to an understanding about what will bring meaning and purpose to these later years of our life? How do we create and sustain new values, new behaviors, new attitudes in a way that eases the transition or makes menopause a powerful beginning rather than a painful ending?
